Pilates is a movement practice built on mindful control, balance and precision. At its heart, it’s about spinal alignment — creating strength and mobility from your core so your whole body moves with greater ease.
The benefits go beyond the mat. With regular practice, you’ll notice improved posture, reduced tension and a stronger connection between body and mind. Pilates is movement as self-care - grounding, energising and sustainable.
Whether you’re seeking strength, recovery or balance in a busy life, Pilates adapts to you. Every session is a chance to realign, recharge and return to your strongest self - regardless of age or stage.
One of the most common things I hear when people consider Pilates is, “I’m not very flexible.” The good news for most of us is that you don’t need to be.
Pilates isn’t about how far you can stretch — it’s about building strength, stability and alignment from your core. Flexibility often improves as a natural result of the practice, but it’s never a prerequisite.
While yoga often focuses on holding postures and cultivating flexibility, Pilates is centred on movement, control and spinal alignment.
The two complement each other beautifully, but Pilates works more on strengthening deep stabilising muscles to support everyday movement and posture.
It’s also ideal for anyone with hyperextension, providing safe, controlled strengthening without overstretching joints.
Pilates is truly for everyone. Every session is tailored to your body, your energy and your goals on the day.
For women, we move in alignment with your cycle, supporting your body through luteal phase, perimenopause or menopause, and adjusting practice as your needs shift.
As a fully qualified, experienced and insured mat pilates instructor — you're in good hands.
Whether you’re new to movement or already active, Pilates meets you where you are, and helps you return to your strongest self.
I came to Pilates for a very practical reason – to avoid knee surgery. And I did.
As a former competitive gymnast, my body slipped back into that familiar mix of strength, control and alignment, and I was quickly hooked while my joints benefited. Over time, I started noticing little things in classes… technique that could be safer, movements that needed more support, instructors stretched too thin. I’d find myself worrying that people might get injured.
A part of me quietly wondered if I should consider teaching, but in my forties I kept telling myself it was too late. A few years later, I realised I wasn't getting any younger and still felt the calling to teach, so I backed myself and qualified at 44.
Now I’m a fully qualified, insured Pilates instructor with a focus on form, technique and supporting women through their cycles, perimenopause and menopause.
My approach is grounded, slow, controlled and deeply body–aware – helping you move well, feel strong and, ultimately, align and thrive.
